Connect Claude Code
On this page
Polyform runs an MCP server inside the app. Choose what the agent may do, start the server, and add it to Claude Code with one command.
1. Choose what it may do
Open the Agent panel. Nine permissions decide what the agent may do. Reading never implies changing: Edit is its own permission, and it starts off.
| Permission | Lets the agent |
|---|---|
| Document | Read pages, layers and their properties |
| Selection | See what you’ve selected |
| Changes | Follow edits as they happen |
| Render | Render images of the canvas |
| Attention | Select layers, move your view and show its step |
| Comments | Read the comment threads, reply and resolve. It never changes the design |
| Files | Read images from folders you allow. It asks you for each new folder |
| Web | Download images from sites you allow. Off until you turn it on; then it asks you for each new site |
| Edit | Change the document. Off until you turn it on |
Read only, Read & point and Full access set all of them but Comments, Files and Web in one click. You can change any of them later, even while an agent is connected.
2. Start the endpoint
Press Start endpoint. Polyform picks a free port on 127.0.0.1 and makes a fresh token. Nothing outside this computer can reach it.
3. Add Polyform to Claude Code
Copy the command from the Agent panel and run it in a terminal. The panel masks the token until you reveal it.
claude mcp add --transport http polyform http://127.0.0.1:[PORT]/mcp \
--header "Authorization: Bearer [TOKEN]"Warning: Each start makes a new port and token
Tip: Prefer one click?
Run without a window
For scripts, start a headless server on one file. Every permission is on, Edit included. An agent can read comments there but can’t write them yet, and it reads images only from the folders you name with --allow-images and downloads them only from the sites you name with --allow-web.
claude mcp add polyform -- polyform mcp serve <file>
