0.9.0-beta.13Beta
Added
- When you undo an AI agent's change, the agent is told. Its next result carries a line from Polyform after the result itself, such as "Polyform: the person undid your change “Recolour the buttons”. They can redo it. Re-read those layers before you build on them.", so it doesn't carry on as if the change were still there. Only the agent that made the change hears it. The agent guide says what these lines mean.
- Polyform's history now remembers which agent made each change, and as part of which of its steps, even after you close the file. Older Polyform betas still open these files and their history as before.
- Review what an AI agent changed, in the new Changes tab beside Layers and Assets (or Agent → Changes by your agents). Each agent session is listed with its steps, newest first, and a dot on the tab says when there's something to review. Open a step to see the layers it added, changed, moved or removed, and each property before and after, such as "Fill #1F6FDB → #3B5BDB" or a text with the removed words struck through. Changes Polyform made by itself, such as a style link detached because the agent set a fill, say "Polyform did this". Your own edits in between are marked "You edited meanwhile".
- Roll back any step an agent took, not only the last one. Roll back takes the step out as one new undo step, and Ctrl+Z or Restore brings it back. When a later step or one of your own edits builds on it, Polyform asks first and says what depends on it. Your own edits are never rolled back unless you pick "Also roll back my edits". An agent that's still connected is told in its next result.
- Keep marks a step, a session or everything as reviewed, and the review is saved with the file, so it's still there after you close Polyform. Changes too old for the history to roll back are still listed, and say so.
- A short notice when an agent's session ends with changes to review, or when you open a file an agent changed while Polyform was closed (
polyform mcp serve), with Review…. - Version History has Review… on each agent's run, which opens that session in Changes.
- AI agents can find layers in one step (
find_nodes): by name, by what a text says, by type, colour label, shared style, variable, colour or component, on one page or all of them, instead of reading the whole document to look. - AI agents can make and change shared styles (
edit_styles): colours, text styles, effects and materials, made from a value or from a layer, renamed, redefined or deleted, as one undo step. Layers that use a style follow it, as when you edit it in Assets. - An AI agent can take back its own change, exactly (
undo_agent_edit), as a new "Agent: Undo …" step you can undo in turn. It refuses, and says why, when anything later builds on that change, so your own edits are never undone for it. - AI agents can detach, swap and reset instances, and make a frame a component in place, keeping its id, so prototype links to it still work.
Changed
The bottom bar names what an agent is doing for every tool ("Exporting", "Painting tiles", "Finding layers"…), where nine of them said only "Working".
The Claude Code skill is version 1.14.1, with finding layers, making styles, taking a change back and the instance commands. The Agent connection window offers Update.
What Polyform adds to an agent's result now comes after the result itself. The message you type while holding an agent, and Polyform's lines about undone or rolled-back work, used to come first, so a script that read the tool's answer from the first part of the result got the message instead. The tool's own answer is always first now (F-320).
The left panel can't be made narrower than 240 px (it was 180), so its three tabs fit. In Dev Mode the READ ONLY label shows when the panel is 320 px or wider; the top bar and the status bar still say Dev Mode.
Fixed
- Detach Instance no longer empties an instance you hadn't changed. An instance that still matched its component turned into an empty frame and its artwork vanished; it now keeps the artwork as layers of its own. Undo works as before.
- An agent's instance swap now swaps. An agent asking for an instance to use another component was told it had worked, and nothing changed.
- Version History is easier to read and to use with the keyboard. Undone entries are no longer faded to an unreadable grey. It now takes the focus when it opens, keeps it while open, and Esc closes it without clearing your selection on the canvas behind.
- Adding, deleting or moving a layer no longer slows down as the document grows. On a 100,000-layer document, the edit itself (before it's drawn) took about 62 ms when you added one layer, and 115–135 ms when an agent added, deleted or moved one. Each now takes under 0.1 ms, as a colour change already did. Deleting a component still takes longer on big documents.
