Changed

  • Compare draws faster on a big page, and beta.17's note about its cost was too broad. Beta.17 said Compare "costs the same in a big file as in a small one". It copies only the frames a step touched, whatever the size of the file, but drawing its pictures costs what those frames cost, and on a 20,000-layer page that was up to 2 s. Compare now draws "now" once and reads it once, and draws the second picture again only where Roll back or Restore would change something. On a generated page of 20,002 layers in the shape of a real game document: a one-layer change in a 1,778-layer frame takes about 0.18 s, down from 0.31 s; in a small frame about 0.05 s, from 0.06 s; and a step across ten frames about 1.2 s, from 1.9 s, which is still slow, because "now" is drawn whole. The pictures and the highlight are unchanged. (F-332)
  • Rolling back or restoring an agent's change draws without redrawing the whole page, when it can. A rollback that recolours, fades, repaints text or a stroke, or removes layers is now written straight into what the canvas shows: on the same page, rolling back a step and the step built on it takes about 0.10 s instead of 0.38 s, and rolling back a 300-layer restyle 0.08 s instead of 0.41 s. One that brings layers back still redraws the page, which costs less than it did, about 0.21–0.30 s instead of 0.33–0.44 s. An agent's own batches and your edits get the same: on that page 9 of an agent's 24 batches were drawn without redrawing the page, up from 1. (F-333)

Fixed

  • Hiding or deleting a gradient fill could leave it showing on the canvas until something made Polyform redraw the whole page. GPU rendering only; exports were right. (F-334)
  • Moving an instance that uses its component's layers unchanged could leave those layers behind on the canvas until something made Polyform redraw the whole page. GPU rendering only. (F-335)
