Released

New entries go here under Added, Changed and Fixed, and move into a version's section when it is released.

Added

  • Crash reports, off unless you choose. When Polyform crashes or hits an error, it can now tell us, but only if you say so. Nothing is sent by itself: after a problem, Polyform asks, once per session, and you choose Send, Always send or Don't send. View report shows the whole report, exactly as it would be sent.
  • What a report holds, and what it never holds. It says what failed and on what kind of PC: the Polyform version, the Windows version, the number of processor cores, the memory size in a range, the graphics card and driver, how long Polyform had been open, and the names of the last commands you used. Your designs, file names, text and email are never in it: before a report is saved, your home folder reads ~, any other path <path>, an email <email>, and anything matching your open document's names or text <redacted>. There is no account, device or install id in it.
  • The technical crash file goes only if you tick it. After a crash, Polyform can keep a technical crash file: a copy of its memory at the time, which can contain parts of the work you had open. It is offered unticked, for that one report, and is never sent by Send all or by the switch. It is kept and sent compressed, so even Polyform's own crash file, about 35 MB, goes as well under 1 MB. It is deleted with its report.
  • Help → Crash reports… lists the reports waiting on this PC, with View, Send and Delete. A report you don't send waits there for 30 days, 20 at most, then deletes itself. Reports go only to getpolyform.com, which deletes them after 90 days.
  • A sent report's ID stays for 90 days, so you can have the report deleted. Under Sent in Help → Crash reports…, each one shows when it went and its ID, with Copy; email support@getpolyform.com with the ID to have that report deleted. The ID and the time it was sent are all Polyform keeps of a sent report.
  • "Send crash reports" is off for everyone. It is in the Updates panel, under Privacy, and at the top of Help → Crash reports…. Turned on, a report goes by itself after a problem, without the crash file, and Polyform says so.

Changed

  • If the editor window stops, it comes back by itself. It reloads to the start screen and asks whether to send a report; open your project again from Recent.
