  • On a Mac, Polyform's own text names the Mac's keys, and Control-click only opens the menu. The status line, tooltips, the context menu, panels and notices said Ctrl, Alt and Shift; on a Mac they now say ⌘, ⌥ and ⇧, in the order the menu bar uses (⌥⌘K for Create Component, ⇧⌘H for Carve Holes, ⌘-click for deep select, Return for Enter, "pinch or ⌘-scroll" to zoom). Control-click, which is a right-click on a Mac, also deep-selected the layer under it and started a drag; now it opens the context menu and does nothing else, and ⌘-click deep-selects. The context menu's shortcuts come from the menus, so the two can't disagree. Windows and Linux read exactly as before. (#334, F-389, F-390, F-391)
  • Polyform holds less GPU memory, and gives it back when you leave it in the background. Drawing shadows and blurs used to make and throw away a set of GPU textures for every layer, and the graphics driver kept what they had taken: zooming out over a page with a few hundred shadowed cards left about 500 MB counted against Polyform for the rest of the session. Layers of the same size now share one set, kept and reused, so the same zoom-out takes about half as much. Shadows far from the view give their memory back once they pass 256 MB, and draw again when you scroll back to them. Opening another project lets go of the last one's images and text. And when the window has been minimised or covered for 2 minutes, Polyform hands its GPU memory back; showing the window draws the page again, which on a big page takes under a second. (F-386, #333)
